I was born in 1992, which if algebra serves me correctly, makes me ten years old in 2002. Old enough to watch Crossroads 52 times in one week despite it being terrible, but too young to appreciate Christina Aguilera's—nay, Xtina’s—then-recently released Stripped.

Lately, the fashion world has seen a resurgence of many a '90s fashion trend. Grunge has come back and died so many times since that we’re beginning to doubt the authenticity of its angst. Vintage Levi's seem poised to stake a permanent claim on the street style circuit. And the choker is so ubiquitous that my 17-year-old sister thinks it was just invented.

But what of the trends that exemplified the early aughts? Blond and brunette streaked hair, popularized by Aguilera and Nicole Richie, triangle bras over tops, and pants slung so low that underwear was simply not an option? It's only a matter of time before these cycle back into fashion. Behold, seven early '00s fashion trends that haven’t returned yet but totally should.
