Maybe as fascinating as what's happening on screen on American Odyssey—NBC's newest action-drama series—is what's also playing out on leading lady Anna Friel's Instagram. Giving fans and viewers a chance to really go behind the scenes of her adventures in the desert (and in the makeup and hair trailer!), we asked the 38-year-old English actress (best known for her role on Pushing Daisies) to go into more detail on some of her most captivating posts.
Photo 1: "I was reluctant to cut my hair, as any girl would be, but knew it was a necessity for the part. It coincided with an unfortunate family tragedy, so it definitely was a case of "it's only hair." I had it done at the George Northwood Salon in London. I still miss the long hair and being able to have a ponytail, but my hair is actually in much better condition now."

Photo 2: "It's like every girl's dream the first time you walk into the souk. But it can become tiring after five months because a lot is the same. I did come across a fabulous French designer called Norya—her dresses are simple chic, summer must haves. The Moroccan style is very bohemian. I also brought back several large leather bags for my travels, which I'm complimented on all the time."
