Chrissy Teigen Answers All of Your Most Pressing Thanksgiving Prep Questions

She's also taking her own advice and doing her version of green beans. "It's cream of mushroom, it's cheddar cheese—oh, they are heaven," Chrissy says of her recipe. "There's ham cubes in it—what more do you want?" NOTHING.

How does she do her potatoes? "Every which way, baby," she says. But this year in particular, she's doing her mom's scalloped potatoes."It has ham and bacon and a cream sauce—no cheese," she says. "A lot of the scalloped potatoes have cheese, but these ones I love without it." "Then I do a garlic mashed potato as well, because I just want to mix gravy all up inside it," she says. Before the video cuts off, she mentions her secret mashed potato ingredient: Cream cheese (who knew?!).

This year, they are also making John Legend's mac n' cheese. What cheeses will he be using? "Just cheddar and monterey," he shares.

And now, a subject Chrissy is very passionate about: Stuffing. "I love Stove Top," she says. And none of the "fancy, schmancy" varieties. "I like OG turkey," Chrissy says. "I will say don't make it too early; it gets mush-mush. Do it at the last minute." She also doesn't do her stuffing inside of the turkey, even though she "loves me a photo of the stuffing oozing out of a turkey."

Last but not least, because she's our favorite person, she advocates for jellied cranberry sauce. "There's something I love about seeing that thing flop out of a can and have those little ridges on it," Chrissy says. "I'm into it. Stay canned, keep it traditional, go jellied." PREACH.

The TURKEY

Now, onto the meat. The Teigen-Legend household brines their turkey first. "This year we are doing Alton Brown's honey brined turkey," Chrissy says. "But John's favorite for the past few years is Todd English's."

How are they cooking the turkey? "I know I said I was smoking a turkey this year for the first time," Chrissy says. "[But] I think we are going to deep fry. Smoking you have to pay so much attention to it—we want to watch football and cook and drink." Amen.

But because they are deep-frying, they will be without the juices and drippings needed to make a gravy. Here's Teigen's "dirty little secret": "I actually use—this is unpaid also—jars of Heinz gravy," Chrissy shares. "It's really great. I've already stocked up."

The Desserts

Sick of pumpkin pie? "I am making the last minute decision to do banana pudding...with cream cheese, vanilla, condensed milk—like super, super whipped and delicious with Nilla Wafers," Chrissy says. "Make banana pudding, trust me." (In Chrissy we trust.)

But the "best Thanksgiving dessert on this planet" is Teigen's "sweet potato streusel pie." And you can find it on Kim Kardashian's app today, where Teigen is sharing eight of her favorite Thanksgiving dishes.
