Denny Hamlin, Joe Gibbs Racing driver and 23XI Racing team co-owner, is known for his outspoken personality. In his podcast, “Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin,” he often gets candid and gives the listeners an unfiltered and honest commentary. Whether it is about on-track shenanigans or off-track gossip, his podcast is the place to go for NASCAR fans. Recently, he made another shocking revelation. It was about his girlfriend and former NASCAR driver Carl Edwards.
On the latest episode of his podcast titled “Nashville, I’m Sorry, DILFs & William Byron,” Hamlin and his fellow hosts spoke about the 2007 NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion. While talking about Edwards, Hamlin dropped a bomb, rather an amusing one. It was about his girlfriend, Jordan Fish, with whom he has two lovely children. According to Hamlin, Fish is in awe of his former Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Carl Edwards.
Denny Hamlin stated, “I didn’t see it but all I know is my girlfriend is like when Carl’s around what you call it, a Dilf, no but I always like Carl he’s a great race car driver.” After the 42-year-old made this statement, there was a burst of laughter. His team even cheekily included “DILF” in the podcast’s title. It is safe to say Hamlin has been having fun with his show. While Hamlin’s statement about his partner was a surprise, many share the same view as her.

Denny Hamlin hopes to see Carl Edwards return to NASCAR
Jokes aside, Hamlin added, “He [Carl Edwards] says, I would love to come back, but don’t want to come back. But if I come back, it won’t be for driving.” The No.11 Toyota Camry driver refers to Edwards’ interest in returning to racing. Hamlin claims, “He’s been itching a little bit. I think he does miss it. I’d be interested in (fielding a car) that for sure.”
Carl Edwards and Denny Hamlin were Cup Series teammates at Joe Gibbs Racing for two years before Edwards retired. Known for his famous backflip, Edwards has 28 wins in the NASCAR Cup Series. He also has 220 top-ten finishes. In 2016, in the Cup Series finale, he was hooked by his rival Joey Logano with ten laps remaining. It ended his dream of winning a Cup title.
Carl Edwards announced his retirement from NASCAR in January 2017. He stated that it was a simple and personal decision. Five years later, Denny Hamlin claims Edwards wants to get back into NASCAR. However, it remains to be seen if the early retiree will return to racing.
