My friend Katie told me that she throws a dinner party once a month because it forces her to keep her place spotless and decorated. SOOOOOOOOO true. I have been in dinner party hibernation for the last two years due to perfectionism-itis. Thankfully, some out-of-towners snapped me out of it and I hosted a sit down for twelve Saturday night. My new obsession: Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa Parties! cookbook. I found out about it after three friends told me that her book was fail proof. It's true - everything came out so well. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the filet of Beef w/ Gorgonzola sauce (so delicious - soooo easy). I was inspired by my friend Gloria Baume from Teen Vogue; she threw a fantastic party on Wednesday night. Even better than the fete was her outfit - she wore a long hippie inspired flow-y black and white dress and looked soooo cool. I went for a more mod look for my evening as hostess: my black Wolford turtleneck bodysuit and tights (they're shiny black with a seam down the back) which I have been wearing to death, and a white DVF dress. Do you have foolproof dinner party faves - food or style-wise?? If I'm going to keep this up, I need all the help I can get!
