The happiest person on the planet right now is Stephen A. Smith. Dallas Cowboys who defeated Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in the wild-card game unfortunately couldn’t best Brock Purdy and the 49ers and were handed a humiliating defeat at the hands of Mr. Irrelevant.
The game started off slow with both teams punting the ball most of the drives. The 49ers managed to score a field goal and took that lead into the second quarter where Cowboys kicker Brett Maher missed yet another extra-point attempt.
San Francisco’s offense had a tough opponent in the Cowboys’ defense, with Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence at the helm of the attack. Purdy did seem a little green the entire game, completing only 19 of his 29 passing attempts for 214 yards and no touchdowns. The 49ers’ defense was the main reason why they won the game as they picked off Dak Prescott twice and made him uncomfortable the entire game.

Prescott couldn’t go two games with a clean performance the entire season. As many NFL pundits and fans predicted, Prescott did throw two interceptions in the game and couldn’t rise up to the occasion. This will bring up the total tally of the Cowboys’ playoff appearances without a conference title game to 12. The last time they won the NFC title was in 1995, but they did had the likes of Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Emmitt Smith to see through that result.
Skip Bayless, adie-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, was really hurt by seeing another abysmal performance from Prescott. He went on to express his frustration on Twitter with a series of tweets. One read: “I’m calling in sick tomorrow. Heartsick.” In another tweet, Skip wrote, “Congrats to the 49ers, who will lose to the Eagles.”

There will be a lot of firing done in the next few weeks in Dallas’ camp. The main person on the hot seat is head coach Mike McCarthy and Brett Maher, seeing how he missed 5 extra points in the playoffs. It’ll be interesting to see what Jerry Jones does to make his team a Super Bowl contender for 2023.
