Eagles’ DeVonta Smith pick made fans absolutely lose their minds – NBC Sports Philadelphia

After last year's extremely confusing and somewhat disappointing NFL Draft, the Eagles desperately needed some good draft execution this time around to fix fans' confidence.

They got exactly that.

Howie Roseman and the Birds jumped up two spots in a trade with the Cowboys, and then selected Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith with the No. 10 overall pick.

In a combination of the nerves, the drama of the trade up, and the excitement over picking the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Eagles fans absolutely lost it on social media when the pick was announced:

I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but thank you Howie Roseman. You crushed it tonight.

The general consensus on this pick seems to be that Roseman and the Eagles nailed it, and really it's hard to blame them for being so pumped.

Smith is an electric, gamebreaking potential star, and now they have a true WR1 for years to come. That's all you can really ask for when you're starting to build a team of the future.

What a pick.
