There’s a good chance that some Marvel and DC fans will wake up this morning, check Twitter, and then subsequently feel compelled to go back to bed after reading bout what bizarre question is trending. Other fans will crack their knuckles to prepare for a morning of strongly-worded comic book crash courses.
‘Does Batman Die in Infinity War’ is a question we will be answering up ahead, with the utmost respect towards anyone who is not comic book, MCU, or DCEU savvy.
Marvel has proven to be a titan of cinema throughout the last decade and DC is also trying to establish a fluidity to its interconnected universe, that could truly begin to shine with Matt Reeves’ The Batman – said to be set on Earth 2 making it completely separate from Batman iterations gone before.

Batman’s Infinity War Fate
The obvious answer to the trending question is no, Batman does not die in Avengers: Infinity War because the character was never in the film to begin with.
The Dark Knight is a character belonging to the DC Universe, where Avengers: Infinity War is a Marvel property.
Marvel and DC fans can be somewhat bitter towards anyone who confuses the two, but perhaps the individuals asking the above question may just be starting out on their comic book journey – and it is likely a mistake that they will make again, considering how many characters there are to keep track of.
Fans React to Trending Question
As predicted, Marvel and DC fans alike took Twitter by storm to share their experiences with friends or family asking the same question.
Thankfully, most fans took it all in good humor, which left little room for aggressive keyboard warriors to have their say.
Writer, Femi, may be looking for a new friend right about now:
[email protected]_DryOFOC told me "Femi, I heard a spoiler for Avengers: Infinity War, but I'm not sure if it's true because I don't watch super-hero films as much as you do"

He's just spilled the beans : "Does Batman die in it?"
I'm not sure we can work together anymore….
Another fan is even questioning their own flesh and blood:
Sis who is not into Marvel: "Hey so does Batman die in infinity war?"
Me: *chokes on my drink and questions whether we're related*

Additionally, this user admitted that they don’t watch many movies of this ilk and was clearly confused by spoilers they had read:
I went 3 days thinking Batman died in it cause of a spoiler I saw online. I was sad. I was then confused when in fact Batman does not die in Infinity War. It's fairly obvious, I don't watch many of these movies.

Marvel Versus DC
Confusing which franchise comic book characters belong to is a common mistake for casual viewers or people who take no interest in superhero media.
These hiccups have caused a flurry of memes to appear online and even in other franchises – referring to the meme featuring the quote “Use the force, Harry’ with Gandalf written underneath accompanied by a picture of Patrick Stewart.
A good starting point for telling Marvel and DC apart is knowing that the Avengers belong to Marvel and the Justice League to DC. Therefore, all characters that exist within those films, narratives, or organizations also belong to that franchise.
With both franchises preparing to expand their universe even further – Marvel with the Multiverse and DC with Earth 2 – fans will be turning their attention towards Marvel’s next blockbuster, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and DC’s The Batman.
