SEBRING, Fla. (WTHR) - A Florida man is under arrest after botching the castration of a man he met online.

In a pun-filled Facebook post, the Highlands County Sheriff's Office recounted the story of a 911 hang-up call that turned into a story deputies will never forget Sunday night.

"This one is a little...let's just say sensitive. You could even say it's kinda nuts," the post read.

Warning: The details of the police run are graphic.

Officers responded to the address where the disconnected call originated and met 74-year-old Gary Van Ryswyk, who told them he had just performed a castration and things didn't go so well.

Police were led to a man lying on the bed with a towel over his groin area and a lot of blood. A pink container nearby held the man's now-detached testicles. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Van Ryswyk told police he met the victim on a website on the dark web for people with a castration fetish. He said he had experience castrating animals and had even removed one of his own testicles seven years ago.

The room where the victim was found was set up like a surgical center, including medical equipment and painkillers, with a camera set up to record the operation. Van Ryswyk said he had tried the procedure a week earlier, but "something came up" so he delayed the meeting.

He also told police he had botched a similar procedure on a man at a local motel a few years ago, but while that victim also went to the hospital, police were not called.

He was arrested on a felony charge of practicing medicine without a license resulting in bodily injury. Van Ryswyk is being held on a $250,000 bond.
