Franklin Meijer issues advisory due to quality issue with fuel

A gas station in Franklin, Indiana, has issued a quality advisory after a small amount of unleaded fuel was in diesel fuel tanks.

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WTHR) — Meijer is alerting tis customers that diesel fuel sold at its Franklin location may have a quality issue.

The Meijer, located at 2390 N. Morton St., said the quality issue happened when a small amount of unleaded fuel was accidentally introduced into the diesel fuel tanks by a fuel supplier. The mix up could cause damage to the car's engine.

About 50 customers were impacted during this time, but only six complaints have been filed, according to Senior Director of Communications Frank Guglielmi.

Meijer is asking customers who purchased diesel fuel from Wednesday, June 13 at 12:00 p.m. through Friday, June 15 at 12:00 p.m. at that Meijer to contact customer service at 1-800-543-3704 if they are experiencing an issue with their diesel vehicle.

Guglielmi said that Meijer will cover all costs for those impacted and will give those customers a $100 Meijer gift card.
