A US-based Nigerian man, Edose Ohen, has turned his love for doughnuts into a booming 24-hour pastry cafe in Houston, Texas.
Edose owns Glazed, a doughnut shop in the city of Houston. Edose, who is from Edo State in Nigeria, discovered his love for doughnuts while he was studying in the United States of America, and decided to monetize his passion.

According to him, he got the inspiration to open his own doughnut shop while watching an episode of his favourite CNBC show, “How I Made My First Million“. Edose got his first degree in Management and Information Systems from the C.T Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, Texas in 2013. He then went on to get an MBA and work for an oil and gas company in the United States.
Even though he was abroad, he still managed to touch his roots; down the line, Edose started his own company, Alfa Dando, an internet provider that works mainly in his home state, Edo, and provides a communication infrastructure for the Nigerian Gas Pipeline and Transportation company.

His journey to his doughnut shop achievement is characterised by his unrelenting quest for success and the ability to be distinct. He noted that he realized that there is a trend for gourmet doughnut shops but that it was missing in Houston. Of the belief that Houston is the next global city, he claimed he wanted to be the first to fill that gap.
