Maria Sakkari has blown hot and cold throughout the season. She reached the fourth round of the Australian Open and then followed it up with a runner-up finish at St. Petersburg. She then made it to the semifinal of the Qatar Open and then had another runner-up finish at Indian Wells. She then had a pretty average clay season and also underperformed on grass.
