‘Heartbreaking’: Twitter mourns as Superbowl Champion & former Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas dies at the age of 33

Demaryius Thomas achieved a lot in his illustrious career. The wide receiver started his career with the Denver Broncos back in 2010 and went on to play for the Texans, Patriots, and the Jets as well. The star player went on to earn five straight Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl ring during his decade-long career.

The world was shocked when the news of his demise was verified. The champion player breathed his last at the age of 33. According to the public information officer for the police department in Roswell, Thomas was found dead in his Atlanta home on Thursday night.

Preliminary information is that his death stems from a medical issue, and our investigators currently have no reason to believe otherwise,” the police department said in a statement on Friday. Thomas announced his retirement from the NFL in June this year.

Thomas would have turned 34 this Christmas, however, fate had something else in store. The NFL star is survived by his girlfriend named Surina. After Thomas‘ demise, the NFL also took to Twitter to pay condolences to his family and close ones.

The NFL family mourns the tragic loss of Demaryius Thomas and we extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones,” the statement read. As soon as the news came out, innumerable fans took to Twitter to pay last respects to the champion player.

Demaryius Thomas’ football feats were incredible, but this is the man I’ll remember: The guy who was kind, always smiling, who was Uncle DT to so many kids, and who was always thoughtful and sincere in our professional relationship.
