Now that October 27 is only days away, we're keeping our eyes peeled for those
Alan Wake 2 achievements — in the meantime, Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that we can preload the game now, as well as the install size for Xbox Series X|S.
You can preload Alan Wake 2 now, and the install size on Xbox Series X|S is 82GB, while PS5 is 85GB and PC is 86GB. If you're looking to prepare yourself in full for the launch on October 27, check out the catch-up video below about the leadup to Alan Wake 2.
We know that Alan Wake 2 will have a performance mode on Xbox Series X, but
not on Xbox Series S — Remedy communications director Thomas Puha recently
commented that the Xbox Series S GPU "is an issue". And, while the game itself is yet to launch, we already know that its
free DLC will be "significant", with creative director Sam Lake saying that we could expect more info "pretty soon after the game is out."
Alan Wake 2 takes place 13 years after the first game in the town of Bright Falls, and revolves around the writer Alan Wake himself, and FBI agent Saga Anderson. It's been a highly-anticipated launch for the latter half of 2023, and was just beaten by Forza Motorsport as the most popular option in our poll asking which October Xbox games you're most excited for.
