A Twitter user, Àgbá, has shared a post on how many mothers encourage their children to be disrespectful to their fathers.
He explained the importance of fathers to their families, asserting that they were created by God to be the head of the home. Agba also claimed that any family that respects the authority of their father (dead or alive), “hardly goes astray”. He agreed that there are some irresponsible fathers but he still considers them very few in between.
He then advised mothers to be responsible by making sure that a father’s authority is respected in the home. He claimed that when a mother fails in her duties to help her husband raise their children, the streets will help her raise them.

“Every day, I come here to talk about the importance of fathers. Any family that respects the authority of their father (dead or alive), hardly goes astray. Granted, we have some irresponsible fathers but I still consider them a wee drop in the ocean. When God made fathers the head of the home, he wasn’t foolish.
“And a responsible mother must make sure a father’s authority is respected by the latter. A father directs the home (near or far) and a mother molds the home. When a mother fails in her duties to help her husband (dead or alive) raise their children, the streets will help her raise them. And more often than not, the mother will be blamed for that.
“You have a daughter or son that you sent to school. You know that child is not working. But that child sends you money to feed. You don’t care homuchch a child got the money. When a father raises an alarm, you try to cover for or defend the child. By so doing, you make that child disrespect the authority of the father.
“You make that child see the father as a clog in their wheels on the fast lane. Your greed and quest for an undeserving lifestyle make you disobey God & derail from your responsibilities towards that child. If not for the pressure from some greedy & irresponsible mothers, some fathers will never support their children going to do anything illegitimate.

“And most of the time, You’ll notice that those mothers call the shots at the home front. But I can’t completely exonerate some fathers for failing to lead their homes & stamp their authority. It starts with your choice of a wife. Some fathers married women that they should never have married. And so, at some point, they lose grip of the home.
“And we all know what happens to the children from homes where the mother dictates what goes on in there. It starts with respect for authority. And the father must earn it. And any father that has earned it, will continue to earn it, even if he’s no longer alive. This is why I said a widow is not a single mother. A family where the authority of the father is revered will still come out fine, even if the father is no more.
“I want to give young men and women who prefer the fast lane of life, a simple assignment. Do an honest assessment of the home you came from. Check the dynamics of the home in terms of how your mother treats your father. And how his authority is valued. You may just realize that the wrongs you witnessed in your homes are part of your “motivations”.
“It starts from there. But your wrong association in the streets will further motivate you. “Train a child in the ways of the lord. And when they grow up, they’ll not depart from it”. “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger. Bring them up with love & discipline”. God gave those instructions. Every child will make mistakes. But the upbringing of that child will always speak to his or her conscience.”
“When your child’s conscience is dead, then coming back to sanity becomes difficult. Above all. For a father to achieve this, he must choose the right wife. Only his wife will help him with this. She’s the best gift you can give to your kids. If you fail in that, you’ll see the consequences in their lifestyle. A lot of young girls & boys have already failed, even before starting. End,” he wrote.
