How to Wear Winter Clothes in Summer

The highs have been in the upper 80s/low 90s in New York City lately, and while that may not seem too hot for some of you, it is sticky, and humid, and sweltering. Still, that hasn’t stopped some of our favorite trendsetters from sporting more than cut-offs and off-the-shoulder tops. In fact, Bella Hadid, her sis Gigi, and Kendall Jenner have been wearing styles that read more fall and winter than summer.

Bella Hadid, for one, was seen wearing over-the-knee boots with long-sleeved dresses. Now, we love a leg-elongating boot—but at this time of year? Call us perplexed. But, clearly the runway star is on to something because her sister Gigi was spotted wearing a shearling coat. Okay, she was wearing pool slides—but they were also furry! (Of course, the model wasn’t seen with even a dab of extra-dewy skin, despite her cold-weather layers.)

Perhaps, that is the key to wearing these wintery pieces. Pair something you'd usually wear when it's colder out, like a lingerie-inspired slip dress, and you get to have a wardrobe that is cool as it is seasonless. Now, that’s a bang for your buck closet that we can get behind.

The model clearly is longing for colder days, as she sported a Stuart Weitzman leather over-the-knee boot with a Baja East sweater turtleneck dress!

She tried the same look with a Moschino dress.

And here's Gigi with that shearling. She balanced it out with a more summery slip dress. Notice how Kendall Jenner (right) is also wearing an oversized denim jacket.
