Boxing champion Claressa Shields, who is known for her impressive boxing record and strong opinions, has spoken out on the recent Keke Palmer controversy. It started when her husband, Darius Jackson, commented inappropriately on a video of Palmer and the American singer Usher, where he criticized Palmer’s dressing, on Twitter.
Women’s Featherweight championAlycia Baumgardner also spoke out on this in a tweet in which she said, “I’m laughing at these men replies to the Keke situation. We get it you’re INSECURE!” Shields replied by adding her own thoughts, “I honestly hate that they think it’s ok for that man to do what he did on social media! Like she’s a public figure! And first thing first SHE GROWN! Wear whatever the hell she wants!”
Both boxers received backlash, and Shields was also called masculine by one of the Twitter users who were taking digs at the champion. “The GWOAT” replied by saying, “I love p*nis, I love alpha males,” shutting down the haters. According to Shields, Jackson should have dealt with the situation in a more private way rather than embarrassing his lady like that.

Claressa Shields has held world championships in three different weight classes. It includes the Undisputed Women’s Middleweight Championship, the Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship, and the Unified WBC and IBF Female Super Middleweight Championship. She is the only boxer to hold all four major world titles in boxing simultaneously. She also tried her hand at MMA at PFL but lost to Abigail Montes in 2021.
