Shikigami is depicted as monstrous creatures In the Jujutsu Kaisen manga that the Jujutsu sorcerers often summon. Relatively, Cursed Spirits are somewhat independent and evil entities. They’re a threat to humanity and the entire Jujutsu society. They show many characteristics, origins, and purposes throughout the series.

Shikigami is shown to be summoned by sorcerers during their battle. However, Cursed Spirits are depicted as their opposite. It was said in the series that these entities are born from the negative emotions and cursed energy that humans radiate from time to time.

Shikigami don’t have consciousness, motives, and distinguished personalities like the Cursed Spirits. The latter are independent and driven by their motives and desires, often wreaking havoc on the world.

Examples of some of the most significant Cursed Spirits shown in the series are the Disaster Cursed Spirits Jogo, Mahito, and Hanami. Their strength and intelligence vastly differ from the other cursed spirits in the series.

We know that for someone to use the abilities of a Shikigami fully, they would first need to be fully tamed by the user. Different Shikigami possess various powers and abilities; however, their strength mainly depends on their user. As we have seen in the series so far, the most powerful Shikigami is the Divine General Mahoraga. He is considered the strongest Shikigami of the Ten Shadows technique.

Mahoraga might appear really intimidating during a fight, but the true power of the Divine General lies in the fact that it can adapt to any and all phenomena. It can adapt to any attack that can injure it as the wheel on its head turns, and Mahoraga gains the ability to adapt to it. He also gains the ability to counter the attack if used again completely. Theoretically, this means defeating the Divine General Mahoraga is borderline impossible.
