Kaitlyn Babb's grandfather contacted the prison in 2016

McFadden was a registered sex offender who was first convicted of rape in Pittsburg County and sentenced to 20 years in prison. In 2016, the convict was caught with a phone inside his cell, as per an arrest affidavit, Fox News 23 reported. That same year, Babb's grandfather contacted the prison and alleged that his 15-year-old granddaughter was in contact with McFadden.

The affidavit revealed that officials scanned through the cell phones and found explicit images of McFadden and Babb, who was a minor at the time. McFadden was eventually charged with soliciting sexual conduct with a minor with technology and possession of juvenile pornography in 2017. However, he was released from prison on October 30, 2020, after serving 16 years and nine months of his 20-year sentence.

The following month, authorities issued a bench warrant in the child porn case. He was possibly arrested over the case, as his bond was reportedly set at $25,000 on November 16, 2020. He reportedly posted the bond on November 19, 2020, and was eventually allowed to walk free, the publication noted. Since McFadden’s release, his jury has been pushed off several times before being scheduled for May 1, 2023.

However, just hours before the trial, seven bodies were discovered at McFadden’s home in Henryetta, Oklahoma. It was later revealed that McFadden fatally shot his wife, Holly, and her three children, Tiffany, Michael, and Rylee, along with missing teenagers Ivy, 14, and Brittany, 16, who was spending the weekend with the family. Shortly after, he turned the gun on himself and took his own life.
