Lionel Messi has done it again ! Time and again the Argentine maestro just keeps on proving his haters wrong and today he has repeated the same in the most exquisite fashion against a rigid Club Brugge. Paris Saint Germain simply toyed with the Belgians tonight and it was a goal feast for the Parisians. Messi scored two of Paris their goals and his first goal (the third for Paris Saint Germain) was an incredible left footed strike.
The Parisians had the game under control within just 7 minutes as that was all that Kylian Mbappe needed to score his brace. Lionel Messi then further increased their lead in the 37th minute following a counter. It was again Kylian Mbappe who provided him with the assist but it would be wrong to give him credit for that as when Leo got hold of the goal, he was yards away from the box. All it took him was a few strides towards the box and then a sensational strike to fool the goalkeeper before the ball went inside the net.

The Parisians went stale after their third goal. They pretty much sat back and let Club Brugge have control as they had a sweet lead. However, when Brugge scored a goal in the 68th minute through Mats Rits, PSG got back to life. And once they did so, the Parisians needed just 9 minutes to score. Lionel Messi won a clear penalty after attracting a foul and he made no mistake in converting it. With this, he now has 758 career goals, breaking Pele’s record. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are now officially two of the highest goalscorers in the history of the game.
With this, the Parisians end their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign on a high, just 1 point behind Manchester City. They finished 2nd in group A which means they will be awaiting a tough opposition.
Let us take a look at how the world reacted the Lionel Messi breaking Pele’s astounding record.

If you got 40 G/A every year for 25 straight years, you would have 1,000 goal contributions.
Lionel Messi has 1076 G/A in his career.
Unparalleled.
