A Maxim model from New York, Elizabeth Pipko, who reportedly worked with Donald Trump's presidential campaign, had earlier feared to express her support for the Republican would affect her career. The 23-year-old, however, has now come in support of the president and hopes to work on his reelection campaign.
Pipko decided to volunteer for Trump's presidential campaign in 2016 and within two months she was hired as a national volunteer services coordinator for the data team. She was reportedly paid $4,000 per month.
She reportedly claimed to be neither conservative nor liberal, however, she was convinced that Trump would be the next president "because of the way he spoke and his honesty."
However, she kept her support for him a secret until now because she was afraid of expressing it to her left-leaning modeling colleagues and bosses which could have a negative impact on her career.
Pipko, while talking to the New York Post, said: "Once, after working a 10-hour-day on the Trump campaign, I went to meet with my manager (who was not affiliated with a modeling agency)" and he and a colleague were talking about how much they hate Trump."
"My manager kept saying how evil the people who work for him must be and that he would never work with anyone who supported him. I was terrified they would find out that I was one of the so-called evil people," she added.
The 23-year-old claimed that she lied to her colleagues and told them she was an ice skating coach whenever she went to the Trump Tower to work. She claims that she once ran into a modeling friend there and immediately hid her badge and told them she was running errands.
"But at every modeling job or meeting, the talk inevitably turned to Trump, and it was always high-stress. At one shoot, the photographer came in wearing a black T-shirt with a gigantic red slash over Trump’s face. I was so unnerved, I could barely concentrate on the job at hand," she said.
Pipko also said that her breather had to create a program that would continuously search her name with other keywords to get 'Trump' removed. They had to resort to it because Trump's name would appear in Google's search bar whenever anyone typed her name into it.
The model, however, has now broken her silence after two years "even if it means saying goodbye to modeling forever." Her husband, Darren Centinello, is reportedly still a part of Trump's campaign team and works on digital and social media outreach/strategy for the 2020 race.
"I think Trump is great for women. He’s always promoted women to leadership positions at his real estate company and at the White House. And as for the alleged payoffs to various women — it’s none of my business. I care about what President Trump has done and will do for my country," Pipko said.
