Orange Is the New Black Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: All Hail Queen Vee

We return to the flashback of the children's birthday party. Crazy Eyes makes things weird during story time with tales of fire-breathing dragons and people dying. The other girls hate it and act like total doucheburgers—hold the pickles—and call Crazy Eyes stupid. This. Is. Bulls**t. I cannot handle this.

We're back at Litchfield and it's bedtime. Newbie Soso is crying, so Pipes comforts her and tells her she cried her first night in prison too. Meanwhile, Larry's on a date that his father set up. It's hella awkward because the woman brings up Piper and says she's into the fact that he has no ambition because it means he can stay home and raise their future kids while she works. This lady is awesome.

Crazy Eyes decides to do Vee's errand and looks for the electrical socket that has the package, which turns out to be a pack of cigarettes. She goes to deliver a toothbrush and the cigs to Vee but she sees Pipes and runs out of the room. Vee follows and asks what's going on. CE says Pipes is scary and dangerous. Vee works her magic and says that she sees Crazy Eyes and that she's a strong black woman. They hug. Vee then goes to Gloria and wants to make a trade for the cigarettes.

Bennett tells Daya that he can't sneak the prenatal vitamins into the prison, so he gives her a bag of spinach:

Pennsatucky and Pipes meet with Caputo. He says they're equally at fault, even though Pipes claims Penssatucky didn't hit her. He ignores her and wants them to

They do so grudgingly.

Red is now sporting a new 'do and sees Vee in the hall. They walk toward each other and hug. Oh, they're friends! Vee says she's going to keep her head low, do her time, and leave. Neither myself nor Red buy that.

We go to another flashback: Crazy Eyes' graduation. She's supposed to sing a song, but she gets really nervous. Her parents encourage her, but she freaks out onstage. Then we jump to the Christmas pageant. She sings and is happy until she leaves and a couple inmates make fun of her. Damn, this lady can't catch a freaking break! Anyway, she runs outside and see Pipes beating the crap out of Pennsatucky. Crazy Eyes is still in a mental haze and thinks Pipes is her mom and punches her, saying, "Quit pushing me to do things, Mommy!" Pipes is stunned, and Crazy Eyes punches her again and knocks her out.

This leads us to present day. Crazy Eyes goes to see Pipes and apologizes for what happened. Pipes thanks her because without Crazy Eyes hitting her, it wouldn't have looked like a fair fight and she wouldn't be back in Litchfield. Pipes asks if they want to see a movie together, but CE declines. Vee looks on.

Bennett is out of the shower and notices there's room in his prosthetic leg to smuggle in vitamins. Meanwhile, Nicky comforts Morello, and we see Pipes return to her room to find Soso lying in her bed. Pipes is annoyed, but Soso continues saying her bubbly nonsense. That's when Pipes gets crunk and says, "No one has a F**KING CLUE what you are talking about, ever. We are not friends. I'm not your new safety blanket. Not your new Meadow. I am a lone wolf and a vicious one. Don't make me rip your throat out with my teeth." Wow, this really is a new Piper. I'm scared.

Taystee's crew once again leaves Crazy Eyes out when playing Charades. Vee walks in the room and chills in the corner. The women finally notice her, and we learn that Vee used to run the prison. Then we see Flaca deliver a cake to Vee, who invites Crazy Eyes to have some. Taystee walks over, and Vee offers cake as a peace offering. Taystee takes the cake and invites the other girls over. Red walks by and watches and is probably thinking, Laying my head low, my ass.

What did you think of this episode? Is anyone else worried about Crazy Eyes falling into Vee's trap? Also, do you think that Vee now poses a threat to Red, who has been the Queen Bee of the Litchfield for so long?
