FromSoftware fans are at the point in life where any and every news regarding Elden Ring sounds exciting enough to get them hyped. Even if it’s fake information surrounding the game’s brand as a controller for consoles.
While this information is debunked and doesn’t hold as much relevance at the moment, the post garnered enough attention to give fans something to look forward to… only to take it away from them almost a day later.
The Elden Ring controller that isn’t really a thing
Just like most things in Elden Ring, the lack of complete information is something players are simply used to. At this point, you can write a 2-paragraph lore piece about a random character and fans would still give it a thought. That’s how much the anticipation has been for Shadow of the Erdtree.
SUGGESTEDElden Ring Lore Explained: A Refresher Ahead of Shadow of the ErdtreeA day ago, a user by the name of Brlee121 posted a few links that suggested a potential leak for an upcoming controller. Unfortunately, this was quicked debunked and the mods mentioned how the post holds no actual evidence and that people should stop believing stuff like this.
Even though it’s far from true, the controller’s initial design does look impressive and fits perfectly at home for Elden Ring fans. You can spot traces of ‘grace’ and the game’s iconic poster design on the controller, with a shade of black as a backdrop. According to the image, this was an Xbox controller that would be compatible with Series S/X.
The top comment on the post is a hilarious one by user Kevroeques:
What if Shadow of the Erdtree is actually just a controller?
Seriously, at this point, fans might just believe that and find happiness in the fact that something new by FromSoftware is well on its way. Even if it’s just an accessory that hides their feelings of disappointment and craving for a potential DLC.
There’s little to no news around Shadow of the Erdtree, and the community is feeling agitated
All across the internet, you can find conversations full of anticipation and hype for Elden Ring’s expansion. However, the other side of this is coated in rumors, leaks, and theories surrounding the game’s narrative.
The last we officially heard from the studio was a year ago when Shadow of the Erdtree was officially announced. It’s been a long since, and there’s no sight of any trailers, teasers, or art regarding the expansion.
SUGGESTED“Change my mind”: Controversial Elden Ring Opinion Draws (a Lot of) CriticismWhile this may cause a lot of disappointment within the fanbase, there’s a silver lining here. New players are trying out the game and asking relevant questions about the game’s lore and mechanics.
Older players are playing the game again; giving it a second (or even hundredth) playthrough with new characters builds secrets that weren’t explored before. Seriously, there’s a lot to do in Elden Ring while we wait for the expansion
As of late, multiple creators, cosplayers and artists have showcased their anticipation for the DLC by diving deeper into the game’s foundational content. The subreddit for the game alone is filled with thousands of such individuals who are keeping the community alive and thriving. What about you?
