In the early days, bandwidth was the issue. I'm sure they were running on a line measured in kilobytes, not megabytes.
Nowadays, even a basic home cable connection is well over 1MB.
Then again, both Roanoke cams are probably running off the adjoining facility's 'Net connection. The only facility at Rochelle is the gift shop.
That said, a larger format image would be nice.
Remember, too, that the cam can see some residences - a larger format could involve some privacy issues. That was a problem with a controllable cam in Flagstaff.
