While traversing through Losomn, players will inevitably stumble upon a massive doorway locked behind a puzzle. This is the first big challenge of Remnant 2, in which players must track down two masks to unlock the door. One mask for each realm. But that's not where the puzzle ends, unfortunately. After opening the doors, players are greeted by not one, but two Fae Gods—Faelin and Faerin.

Players have a choice. Should they side with Faelin or Faerin? There's a reward no matter which side, but one is a melee weapon, and one is a long gun, so which players choose depends on their builds more than anything else. This guide will explain everything!
Should Players Side With Faelin And Kill Faerin?
If players choose to side with Faelin, despite his gruff demeanor and disdain for humans, we will have to challenge Faerin to one-on-one combat in his arena instead. No matter which Fae players opt to kill, it's a challenging fight overall. There's so much going on, with either boss spawning additional help throughout the fight.
Suppose players choose Faelin and ultimately win against Faerin. In that case, they will earn the Traitor achievement and Was This Supposed To Happen achievement if this was the first world boss players defeated, along with the Melded Heart. By receiving a Melded Heart, players unlock the ability to craft the melee weapon Godsplitter.
Upon returning to Faelin and filling him in on the details of the win against Faerin, players will also receive Faelin's Sigil ring, which provides 10% additional Mod Power when inflicting melee damage.

Should Players Side With Faerin And Kill Faelin?
Alternatively, the rewards change if players opt to side with Faerin and kill Faelin. That said, the story does not. The story remains the same moving forward, no matter who the players side with.
But if players do kill Faelin, they will receive the Traitor achievement and Imposter's Heart item, which will once again allow Ava to craft a legendary weapon, this time the long gun Deceit.
Again, if players return to Faerin and tell him of the victory, the Fae will provide us with Faerin's Sigil, a ring that grants 10% additional Mod Power for all Critical and Weak Spot Hits.
Players will be dropped into the Labyrinth upon beating either boss, where the story shall progress. But again, no specific story alterations depend on the choice made.
