Starbucks For Life contest returns

The sixth iteration of Starbucks for Life is back for the holidays.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The Starbucks for Life contest is back for the holidays.

Launched Tuesday, Starbucks for Life sets aside five grand-prizes of free Starbucks for "life." But the contest website defines "life" as "a daily credit for 30 years for one free food or beverage item at participating stores in U.S. Excludes alcohol."

You have to join the Starbucks reward program to enter.

Other prizes include Starbucks for a year, six months, three months and one month.

Players can also win a PlayStation prize package, movie tickets, and points (stars) that accrue toward free products.

A purchase with a registered Starbucks card or the Starbucks app gains one "play" with a limit of two purchases per day. You can also request a free play through the contest website.

Players "shake" an animated snow globe and earn a token for each shake. Tokens are used to fill out prize categories, and three tokens in a category earns the prize for that row. Duplicate tokens unlock additional chances to shake the globe.

Players can also accrue points and tokens through weekly "challenges." To meet the contest's Week 1 Challenge, a player had to mobile order coffee or food three times through the Starbucks app. The last challenge week runs Dec. 30 through Jan. 6, 2020.

This is sixth iteration of the contest Starbucks first launched in 2014.
