Teresa Palmer opens up about last year's mass celebrity nude photo leak

She was one of a number of celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and Amber Heard that saw their private pictures published online in the largest every celebrity photo hacking scandal.

Now Teresa Palmer has opened up about the devastating August 2014 incident, revealing how she and many of the other famous victims came together to support each other through the saga.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, the Australian actress admitted she was very shaken up when several topless photos of herself she had stored on her phone surfaced on the internet.

'It certainly was such an invasion of privacy, but also scary on a universal level that nobody’s stuff is safe,' she explained.

'Thank god for me I didn’t really have anything too risque, but it’s really scary to know that I have so many photos of my son, my birth video, all of my stuff that I know is in the hands of someone that’s hacked into my computer.'

The Warm Bodies star, 28, took aim at Apple's apparently weak iCloud security and the lack of two-factor authentication, which would have made it much more difficult for the Cloud to be hacked, saying 'That should be enabled'.

She also revealed how she and many other women who featured in the mass photo leak met up in Los Angeles to discuss how it had affected them, and came to the realisation that the cyber attack was a misogynistic act.

'We all had photos of boyfriends—some are famous, some are not—who are naked, and none of the photos of famous men were ever released. It was all women.

'So, it was a personal attack on women, and trying to shame women. I just think it’s disgusting that there were no men—I think there was only one male victim—so women were specifically targeted.'

A handful of images of Palmer with her ex-boyfriend Scott Speedman began surfacing on Twitter last year, including two where she is lounging topless in a pool with her nipples exposed and a tropical landscape in the background.

Erin Heatherton, Gabrielle Union, Kirsten Dunst, Kaley Cuoco and Nina Dobrev were also among those that saw their private photos published for the world to see.

Teresa married actor and producer Mark Webber in December 2013 and gave birth to their first child, son Bodhi Rain, a few months later.

Hollywood is set to buzz with Teresa fever this year with three films to be released in 2015 - Point Blank, a remake of the 1991 thriller of the same name, drama film Knights Of Cups, and crime-drama Triple Nine starring alongside Woody Harrelson and Oscar winner Kate Winslet.
