On their wedding day!
__There are some experiences they missed out on by getting serious so young:
__Oliver sometimes wishes he could have gone traveling on the road with a band. Chelsea says she occasionally wonders what it would be like to go on first dates and get all dolled up and nervous for someone new they way she saw her friends do in college. However, she says that after 12 years, "I still get butterflies in my stomach thinking about him. I know it's weird." I bet you guys think it's adorable, not weird! (Chelsea also wishes she could have had the chance to live in the big city as roomies with her big sister, yours truly.)
Things that are hard about staying together from a young age:
Oliver says it was difficult to balance scheduling conflicts and going to different colleges, but, "It was all pretty easy to sustain with Chels." Chelsea says people's doubts were hard to deal with: "It was tough in high school, people thinking we were too young to be so in love. I wanted to spend every minute with Oliver, which put on a strain on my relationships with my friends. Now being 26, and being married for almost 4 years we still have struggles but it's never been hard for me to love Oliver and our relationship."
But there are major rewards too:
According to Oliver, the best part of staying with the love of his young life: "Knowing that you have someone who loves you back. Living with your best mate. Having a smokin' hot wife." Chelsea says, "Knowing and loving someone completely. We grew up together and are best friends."
Chelsea and Oliver today. Well, not literally today, but like, recently.
What's their secret to a lasting relationship?
