Tori Spelling Revealed She Still Has Mementos From the Birth of Two Kids... In Her Friend's Freezer

Seven years after the arrival of her youngest child, Tori Spelling still has … organic … mementos from two of her kids’ births — and one is stored in a rather odd location.

On Friday’s episode of her podcast misSPELLING, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum revealed she still has two of her placentas. “Unsure which child, there’s two in there, so, unless I have the biggest placenta in the world, there are two vats in there,” Spelling shared. She added, “It’s supposed to be good. It’s something that’s good for your body and they take it out of your body and it’s good to put it back in your body.”

The actress’ longtime manager, Ruthanne Secunda, suggested that, regardless of the health benefits, the placentas are likely expired. She said, “[You should] probably not store it in your freezer too long. How long has it been in there?” Spelling admitted she isn’t sure how old the placentas are because she doesn’t know which births they’re from — but she does know the organs aren’t from 7-year-old Beau’s birth.

“I’m really sorry to my best friend, Jess, because [Beau’s] is still in her freezer,” Spelling shared. “You want to talk good friends?” After saying she asked Jess to take the placenta home from the hospital, the mom of five confessed, “I feel like she has asked me a few times over the last seven years to take that back and I say, ‘Yep, next time I’m there!’ And then I don’t. I’m going to. I’m going to one day,” she insisted.

While she’s held on to two placentas for at least 11 years — her second youngest child, Finn, is 11, while Hattie, Stella, and Liam are 12, 16, and 17, respectively — Spelling said she wasn’t able to save all five placentas because of how many times they moved houses. “We move a lot, so unfortunately a couple got lost,” Spelling shared. Then she quipped, “Imagine that, you guys, they got lost or left at a rental. Imagine you open up a freezer and it’s Tori Spelling’s placenta. That would be interesting to put on eBay.”

The teen drama star went on to share that her ex-husband Dean McDermott ate one of her placentas years ago. “One time, my ex — I was on board — we cooked the placenta and ate it,” Spelling admitted. She continued, “Dean’s an amazing chef, so, I mean … He cooked it and seasoned it and it was actually really good.”

Regardless of how palatable the placenta was then, Spelling should probably part ways with the likely freezer-burnt organs she’s held onto for nostalgia’s sake, as most biological organs have a 1-year expiration date in the freezer. Perhaps she can have them made into jewelry or another memento instead, as beads, bracelets, and other creations are growing increasingly popular avenues for saving the birth organ.
