A 24-year-old Canadian citizen is reportedly going through bankruptcy proceedings, while authorities attempt to recover the stolen funds. However, so far, only $1.6 million has been returned.

Pleterski is said to have used most of the ill-gotten gains to purchase a private jet, go on luxurious vacations, and acquire a collection of high-end cars. According to a government report, the trader’s father recently revealed that his son was kidnapped in December in connection to the missing funds.

According to a report obtained by CBC, Adam Peters revealed that he received a call in the middle of the night, demanding a ransom of $3 million CAD (~$2.1 million USD) for the release of his son, Aiden Pleterski.

The report further stated that Pleterski was subjected to beatings and torture during his kidnapping, which lasted for several days. After his release, Pleterski was reportedly given an ultimatum to come up with the money or face the consequences.

His landlord testified in court that the trader had begged him for the ransom payments but he was unable to assist. At present, there are no identified suspects in the kidnapping case, and it is unclear whether any arrests have been made.

Aiden Pleterski is a Canadian Cryptocurrency marketer and businessman. He has been in the news because he was recently abducted after involving in a $29 million scam.

He is a native of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, and was born there in the year 1998. He holds Canadian nationality. His father’s name is Adam Peters while his mother is Rebecca and both are Canadian, however, nothing much is known about his family.

While he is currently single, his ex-girlfriend had accused him of domestic violence in 2021. Deputy Zachary Eason had noted there were several red scratches on Trentadue’s collarbone and left bicep when he arrived at a residence in Davenport, Fla.

What kind of charges were brought up against Aiden Pleterski?

Aiden Pleterski ran a Ponzi scheme, using investments from some clients to falsify returns for others. In 2021, Pleterski admitted to losing investments when the cryptocurrency market crashed, stating that his greed led to taking aggressive positions that caused significant losses.

However, trustees who investigated the scheme report that Pleterski obtained the $29 million by telling investors he would invest in cryptocurrencies and foreign currencies, but only invested about $485,000, or less than two percent of the total funds.

The report also reveals that he spent a considerable amount of the funds on a warehouse and a fleet of luxury sports cars, including a rare McLaren Senna that he purchased for over $1 million in September 2021.

He also reportedly spent over $700,000 on a mansion, gave nearly $1 million to an associate, and provided around $800,000 to his parents. The trustee now aims to sell the properties and return the money to investors, but some investors have yet to come forward, meaning that the actual losses could be much higher.

Aiden Pleterski, 23, is currently going through bankruptcy proceedings after receiving a total of $41 million.
