After working as a caddie for 21 years, including for Paul Azinger and Grant Waite before Bubba Watson, Scott had planned to shift his focus to teaching. Nevertheless, Scheffler asked him to become his caddie, stating that he wanted to collaborate with a Christian, as that’s how he leads his life.

Despite parting ways, Scott and Watson continue to maintain a good friendship. Watson acknowledged Scott’s contribution to their success on the golf course and also expressed his gratitude for the way Scott has helped him grow as a person, in a touching tribute on Instagram.
