Why Is Apex Legends and Warzone Down Today? (December 15)
On December 15 at approximately 4PM GMT, a mass outage occurred and took multiple services and games such as Apex Legends and Warzone down. According to multiple sources, the server outage is being caused by Amazon Web Services.

As pointed out by CharlieIntel, it’s not just games that are being affected by the Amazon outage. Users are unable to log into their favourite websites and services such as Twitch, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and many more.
The reason that this has caused a mass outage amongst multiple services, websites, and games is due to them all using the Amazon Web Services to operate. So, if AWS goes offline, all services and games that use them will also be taken down.
When Will They Be Back Up?
Unfortunately, there’s no way to estimate how long the game’s servers will be down for. As mentioned previously, this is a huge outage caused by Amazon Web Services.
We expect Amazon is working on the case as we type this article, so it may be pretty soon that services start to come back online. We’ll be monitoring this situation and updating this article as new information comes to light, so stay tuned for further details.
