Yoko Taro, Yosuke Saito tease new games coming after Voice of Cards

Keep in mind this is from the usual magazine leaks. The first part focuses on Voice of Cards and how the game’s project started. Yosuke Saito explained: “Yoko Taro told me Kimihiko Fujisaka was coming back to Japan, so we contacted him asap and started a new project (laughs)”.

Kimihiko Fujisaka is the character designer of Voice of Cards and previously worked with Yoko Taro as the character designer of the Drag-on-Dragoon (Drakengard) series.

Yoko Taro was also asked why the characters’ cards in Voice of Cards have the number VI at the top of their designs. He answered, “I can’t explain it yet, but you’ll get it once you play through the full game”.

Another part of the interview focused on why they decided to work with studio Alim. Yosuke Saito explained “I’ve seen their work on Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Brave Frontier, and they’re really good. They’re used to working on mobile, and Voice of Cards was initially a mobile game, but seeing its scope it felt more suited for a console release.”

At this point, Yosuke Saito also mentioned Yoko Taro and himself are working on several more titles, possibly with Alim.

Lastly, the duo was asked about the other game they teased back in December 2020. Yosuke Saito explained: “We’re still working on it, and I wasn’t on board with it at first but I’ll do my best to make it work.”

Keep in mind Famitsu magazine leaks are often out of context and far from being the full picture. Especially with interviews. We’ll be updating this story with more details once Famitsu magazine is officially available.
